As Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role in expanding GiveDirectly’s partnerships with foundations, institutions, and corporations. You’ll lead the development of proposals and concept notes, manage donor relationships, oversee grant reporting, and build internal systems to track and grow funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal and Grant Writing

  • Lead the full cycle of proposal development, from concept to submission.

  • Draft compelling funding proposals, reports, and pitches tailored to donor priorities.

  • Collaborate with program, operations, and research teams to define and communicate project parameters effectively.

  • Create and maintain core fundraising materials including FAQs, one-pagers, templates, and pitch decks.

Project & Knowledge Management

  • Oversee the proposal pipeline, coordinating inputs from cross-functional teams.

  • Develop streamlined systems for tracking opportunities, submissions, and deadlines.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across donor-facing materials.

Relationship Management & Communications

  • Manage a portfolio of foundation, institutional, and corporate donors.

  • Conduct regular communication, update calls, and presentations for funders.

  • Support grant compliance, reporting, and renewal processes in collaboration with the compliance team.

  • Build and scale efficient systems for donor stewardship and relationship management.

Donor Acquisition & Retention

  • Lead full sales cycles, identifying and engaging new funders aligned with GD’s mission.

  • Prepare pitch materials for senior leadership’s donor engagement.

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing partners and track shifts in their funding priorities.

Pipeline Management & Analytics

  • Track performance against fundraising goals using dashboards and analytics tools.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in donor engagement and reporting.

  • Contribute insights to fundraising strategy and growth forecasting.


Qualifications / Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 3–4 years of professional experience in fundraising, partnerships, or client management at a leading nonprofit, consultancy, or private sector organization.

  • Proven ability to secure and manage funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.

  • Experience developing and maintaining complex donor relationships.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, able to translate complex programs into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.

  • Proficiency in building cross-functional collaboration and meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Analytical mindset with experience using data and metrics to inform strategy.

  • Alignment with GiveDirectly’s values of transparency, integrity, and evidence-based impact.

  • Emotional intelligence, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Fluency in English (required).


Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: USD $94,700 (non-negotiable to ensure pay equity).
