Director, Scholarship Management
Introduction
The ASPCA is launching a national veterinary scholarship to build a mission-aligned veterinary workforce. The Director, Scholarship Management will lead day-to-day operations, ensure alignment with organizational strategy, and create an engaged ASPCA Veterinary Scholar Network for current scholars and alumni.

Key Responsibilities

Implement, refine, and manage the ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship vision, goals, and strategies

Oversee eligibility, evaluation rubrics, and selection processes; lead reviewer recruitment and training (staff and alumni)

Manage vendor partnership for administration, retention strategies, and marketing; coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Communications

Create the annual scholarship calendar and coordinate deadlines and promotions with Communications

Monitor budget accuracy and reporting; ensure program compliance and documentation

Develop policies, procedures, and evaluation methods; track data and trends; set targets and institute improvements

Produce monthly/quarterly reports for stakeholders on numbers served, outcomes, trends, and risks

Launch and lead the ASPCA Veterinary Scholar Network; design engagement, training, mentorship, and career pathways for scholars and alumni

Establish data practices for alumni employment/contact tracking; develop common event formats and an alumni events toolkit with Creative Strategy & Branding

Build and maintain external relationships; represent the program at recruitment and outreach events

Hire, onboard, and manage the Manager, ASPCA Veterinary Network; provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
-
3+ years leading a scholarship program, admissions, financial aid, or related field

3+ years managing long-term, concurrent projects; experience launching new programs highly preferred

Experience managing and reporting on large, complex budgets; strong metrics analysis and executive-level reporting

Vendor management and staff management experience preferred

Excellent relationship-building, written and oral communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills

Strong organization, detail orientation, and ability to meet strict deadlines; comfort with ambiguity and change

Quick adoption of new tech; ability to reach fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and Airtable within 90 days

Contract type: Regular, full-time

Location: Remote (U.S.-based); travel up to 15% (including some weekends)

Schedule: Monday–Friday; occasional evenings/weekends

Reports to: SVP, Operations & New Initiatives, Program Team

Direct reports: One (Manager, ASPCA Veterinary Network)

Compensation (dependent on location and experience): Zone 1: $96,000–$103,000; Zone 2: $106,000–$113,000; Zone 3: $117,000–$124,000
