Position Summary
CHAI is seeking an Associate Director, People Infrastructure and Systems Innovation to lead the transformation of its HR operations. This role will oversee the implementation of CHAI’s first global Human Resources Information System (HRIS), redesign lifecycle processes, and drive automation and knowledge management improvements.
The Associate Director will ensure HR operations are scalable, efficient, and compliant, while building robust HR analytics that inform strategic decisions. The role will also directly manage two staff members and collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT, Finance, Payroll, and country HR teams.
Key Responsibilities
HR Systems Transformation & Data Integrity

Lead the global rollout of CHAI’s first HRIS, moving from manual processes to systematized solutions.

Ensure systems meet global compliance, automation, and reporting needs.

Maintain strong governance, data integrity, and security protocols.

Oversee change management and staff communication for successful adoption.
Operational Efficiency & Lifecycle Process Redesign

Redesign and standardize employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, employment changes).

Introduce SLAs, KPIs, and automation to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Develop global SOPs and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
Knowledge Management

Integrate knowledge management tools with the HRIS for unified employee experience.

Promote best practices in information architecture, governance, and knowledge sharing.

Identify innovative tools to enhance knowledge discovery and collaboration.
HR Metrics, Reporting & Strategic Planning

Provide strategic direction for HR metrics aligned with organizational priorities.

Develop dashboards and reporting tools (using Power BI, Tableau, or SQL).

Analyze trends, identify gaps, and provide insights for leadership decision-making.
People Management & Team Leadership

Directly manage a Senior Manager, HR Systems and Manager, HR Operations.

Provide mentorship, coaching, and growth opportunities.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and mission-driven team culture.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of progressive experience in HR operations and/or global systems implementation.

Proven track record leading HRIS implementation and managing systems integration.

Strong knowledge of HR lifecycle processes and global compliance.

Experience streamlining workflows through automation and systems innovation.

Hands-on experience with knowledge management systems.

Skilled in HR metrics, data visualization, and storytelling using Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.

Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.

Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities.
Preferred:

Familiarity with international labor compliance, especially in nonprofit or development settings.
