Job Purpose
The Technical Director, Knowledge Management & Learning will lead World Vision’s global strategy to embed evidence-based learning, knowledge sharing, and innovation throughout the organization. This role drives the design of digital knowledge management systems (including AI-powered platforms), promotes a culture of data-informed decision-making, and ensures that research and evaluation findings are accessible, usable, and impactful across the partnership.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and global implementation of World Vision’s Knowledge Management (KM) strategy aligned with organizational goals.

Oversee development of an AI-enabled KM hub/repository that curates research, evaluations, and learning content.

Drive innovation in evidence dissemination and usability across technical, advocacy, and policy teams.

Build KM and learning capacity across regional and support offices using tailored tools and a KM Maturity Matrix.

Ensure integration of evidence into strategic decision-making and program design processes globally.

Facilitate knowledge use through communities of practice, synthesis reports, and participatory learning approaches.
Required Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in knowledge management, information science, international development, organizational learning, or related fields

Minimum 8 years of experience in KM leadership, including in large, international or multi-stakeholder organizations

Proven success implementing KM systems (including AI-enhanced platforms) across global teams

Track record influencing senior leadership and embedding evidence-based decision-making processes

Experience facilitating communities of practice and capacity-building for evidence uptake

Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Willingness to travel internationally up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with humanitarian/development sector knowledge needs

Knowledge of enterprise-wide KM systems and AI integration

Training or certification in AI for KM or digital transformation

Fluency in French or Spanish is a strong asset
Working Conditions

Must be based in a country where World Vision International is registered
Compensation
For candidates based in the United States, the salary range is approximately $102,000 – $136,000 USD, depending on qualifications and geographic location. Compensation in other countries is adjusted based on local market benchmarks and internal salary structures.
