Role Summary
Health Affairs is seeking a Social Media Copywriter to support its digital communications team on a part-time, temporary basis. The position involves drafting and scheduling social media content for X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn using Sprout Social. The ideal candidate has experience translating academic or health policy content into engaging, professional social media posts.
Responsibilities

Write social media content promoting monthly journal articles and initiatives

Schedule posts and upload assets via Sprout Social

Revise content based on feedback from Health Affairs staff

Monitor social channels twice a week, manage mentions and engagement

Advise on platform best practices and social strategy improvements
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a health-related field

5+ years’ professional experience in digital PR, content, or communications

Excellent writing, editing, and fact-checking skills

Strong familiarity with social media platforms and tools (Sprout Social or similar)

Ability to write in a clear, professional tone aligned with non-partisan standards
Preferred:

Experience writing in a health care, health policy, or academic context
