Role Summary

Health Affairs is seeking a Social Media Copywriter to support its digital communications team on a part-time, temporary basis. The position involves drafting and scheduling social media content for X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn using Sprout Social. The ideal candidate has experience translating academic or health policy content into engaging, professional social media posts.

Responsibilities

• Write social media content promoting monthly journal articles and initiatives

• Schedule posts and upload assets via Sprout Social

• Revise content based on feedback from Health Affairs staff

• Monitor social channels twice a week, manage mentions and engagement

• Advise on platform best practices and social strategy improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a health-related field

• 5+ years’ professional experience in digital PR, content, or communications

• Excellent writing, editing, and fact-checking skills

• Strong familiarity with social media platforms and tools (Sprout Social or similar)

• Ability to write in a clear, professional tone aligned with non-partisan standards

Preferred:

• Experience writing in a health care, health policy, or academic context

Compensation & Terms

• This is a remote, part-time temporary position
