About the Role

Mozilla is hiring a Senior Payroll Analyst to lead payroll operations across the U.S. and Canada, covering around 800 employees. This remote role ensures timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with tax regulations, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners. The analyst will also lead continuous improvement initiatives, support year-end filings, and mentor junior payroll staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end semi-monthly payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees

• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll laws

• Resolve payroll issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

• Coordinate with People Operations and Benefits teams to manage deductions

• Act as a subject matter expert on payroll systems and practices

• Assist with W-2, T4, and year-end tax filings and audits

• Mentor the Payroll Administrator and support knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 7+ years of payroll processing experience (U.S. and Canada preferred)

• In-depth knowledge of payroll tax laws

• Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage confidential data with discretion

• Experience in cross-functional work environments

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus
