Salary Range: $129,200 – $160,000 USD (based on experience)

Role Overview

The Senior Director, Foundation Partnerships is responsible for driving Mercy Corps’ global strategy to build and manage high-impact partnerships with major foundations. This leader will guide a team of Directors and Deputy Directors, cultivate and maintain a strategic donor portfolio, and serve as a key liaison across internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on maximizing revenue generation, elevating Mercy Corps’ brand visibility, and influencing philanthropy at the global level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute a comprehensive foundation partnership strategy aligned with Mercy Corps’ global goals.

  • Manage and mentor a team of four Directors and two Deputy Directors.

  • Oversee business development, grants management, and relationship cultivation with top global foundations.

  • Maintain a personal portfolio of strategic foundation donors.

  • Collaborate with program, policy, and technical leaders to identify funding opportunities and co-create compelling proposals.

  • Serve as an internal thought leader and external representative to influence philanthropic engagement and elevate Mercy Corps’ visibility.


Qualifications

  • Proven track record in leading successful foundation fundraising strategies.

  • Significant experience managing high-performing teams and building organizational capacity.

  • Strong knowledge of global development and philanthropic landscapes.

  • Expertise in proposal development and strategic partnership building.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to manage complex cross-departmental initiatives and represent the organization externally at senior levels.


Travel & Work Environment

  • Position is remote, with occasional domestic and international travel required.
