Position Overview
CHAI is seeking a Senior Associate to support strategic partnerships and project delivery across its China programs. This role will provide analytical and operational support for initiatives involving cross-border cooperation in global health, working closely with the China Country Director, CHAI program teams, and both public and private sector stakeholders.
The role primarily focuses on health market access projects in China, touching on areas such as tuberculosis, maternal and child health, cancer, malaria, vaccines, hepatitis, and assistive technologies. The Senior Associate will lead strategic project planning, manage execution, and deliver results that inform decisions on global health policy, product development, and market access.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the design and implementation of project activities in alignment with donor requirements and strategic goals.

Manage day-to-day operations of assigned projects, including work planning, budgeting, timeline tracking, and deliverables.

Conduct research and analysis to generate evidence for health policy and investment decisions.

Lead and support stakeholder interviews, data collection, and quantitative modeling (financial, business case, and market analysis).

Develop presentations, reports, and recommendations for internal and external partners.

Engage regularly with government agencies, academic institutions, private sector organizations, and international stakeholders.

Support the identification and scoping of new opportunities aligned with CHAI’s mission.

Contribute to program strategy, cross-team collaboration, and knowledge sharing across CHAI’s China and global teams.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Economics, Medicine, Business, Political Science, or a related field.

At least 5 years of professional experience in consulting, global health, international development, or a related domain.

Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with strong professional communication skills (oral and written).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting.

Proven ability to manage complex projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across cultures and sectors.

Experience conducting quantitative and financial analysis to support strategic recommendations.

Experience working and living in China, preferably within the healthcare sector.

Familiarity with global health policy, regulatory pathways, and product access issues is a plus.
