Location: Fully Remote (based in California near a major airport)
Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-term (contract ends September 30, 2026)
Hourly Rate: $28.60 – $36.69 USD

Job Summary

The IRC seeks a Roving Crisis Case Manager (Level 3) for the Home Study and Post-Release Services (HSPRS) program, focused on supporting unaccompanied children in the U.S. This role involves conducting detailed home studies, crisis intervention, intensive case management, and coordinating resources to ensure child safety and family stability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive home assessments and weekly in-person visits (first 45-60 days), followed by monthly visits as required.

  • Develop and manage individualized, trauma-informed service plans.

  • Provide intensive crisis intervention, involving Child Protective Services and law enforcement as necessary.

  • Offer direct referrals to legal, educational, medical, mental health, immigration, family stabilization, and community integration resources.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and electronic records.

  • Lead crisis cases involving high-risk situations, including trafficking and suicidal ideation.

  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with trauma-informed care principles.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral science with clinical training.

  • Minimum two years of experience in case management, including assessments, service plans, and documentation.

  • At least one year of direct experience with child welfare, home studies, foster care, or post-release services.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).

  • Strong crisis intervention skills and knowledge of child protection frameworks.

  • Familiarity with immigrant populations, particularly unaccompanied minors.

  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including evenings and weekends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams, and Zoom.
