Project Context

This consultancy supports two key projects in Iraq:

  1. Digital technology skills to enhance employability in Iraq (Project No. 210135)

    • Provides digital literacy and skills training for youth, particularly women.

    • Builds institutional capacity and supports private sector employability.

    • Develops monitoring and visibility systems for industrial recovery.

  2. Emergency livelihood support for IDPs and host communities (Project No. 240214)

    • Supports entrepreneurship among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities.

    • Provides training, tools, and equipment to foster business creation.

    • Aims to generate sustainable income opportunities in post-conflict areas.


Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Assist in preparing work plans, budgets, and monitoring tools.

  • Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure quality implementation.

  • Liaise with donors, government counterparts, and international partners.

  • Oversee recruitment processes, procurement specifications, and compliance.

  • Supervise national staff and explore partnership opportunities.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track project progress and prepare inception, progress, and final reports.

  • Draft documentation for steering committees and donor meetings.

  • Identify lessons learned and propose improvements.

Promotion, Outreach & External Relations

  • Represent UNIDO projects to government, private sector, and development partners.

  • Ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements.

  • Share best practices, success stories, and replicable approaches.


Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in economics, environment, business administration, or related field. (Bachelor’s degree + significant experience may be accepted.)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years in job creation, MSME development, or technical cooperation projects at the international level.

    • Experience with donor communities, private sector, and government partners.

    • Experience in post-conflict regions (preferably Iraq) is desirable.

  • Languages: Fluency in English (required), Arabic desirable.
