About the Role
The Program Officer will lead the Unaccompanied Children’s Crisis Assistance Program (UCCAP), a 12-month, privately funded project aimed at improving safety and stability for unaccompanied minors (ages 0–21) in the U.S. This role includes team supervision, case management oversight, stakeholder engagement, crisis response, and program performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Support

Supervise and guide Senior Caseworkers

Ensure adherence to program standards and timely documentation

Develop Standard Operating Procedures and workflows

Act as escalation point for complex or crisis cases

Training & Capacity Building
-
Onboard new staff and support professional development

Coordinate community trainings and facilitate learning sessions

Program Implementation & Oversight
-
Track project indicators and service quality
-
Coordinate with Operations and Finance teams on direct assistance disbursement

Lead partnerships and referral pipeline development

Maintain confidentiality and client-centered, trauma-informed practices

Reporting & Communication

Ensure timely submission of reports

Share updates on project performance with internal stakeholders

Facilitate a sense of collaboration across remote staff

Casework (as needed)

Carry a small caseload to meet program needs

Requirements
-
Education & Experience
-
Master’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or related field + 1 year supervisory and casework experience
-
OR Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of related supervisory and case management experience

Experience working with unaccompanied children required

Skills

Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)

Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom

Strong crisis intervention, communication, and reporting skills

Familiarity with social service systems and referral networks

Experience analyzing program data and creating reports
