The Job

As the Mental Health Technical Lead, you will spearhead Tiko’s strategy to address mental health issues, ensuring the development and implementation of impactful initiatives at both global and local levels.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Tiko’s technical expert on mental health.
  • Organize and promote mental health initiatives, including research, advocacy, and behavior change communication.
  • Lead the creation and contextualization of mental health prevention and response strategies for all Tiko markets.
  • Develop and improve mental health advocacy tools for adolescents and youth.
  • Forge and strengthen global and country-specific mental health partnerships.
  • Train internal teams to deliver effective mental health solutions through the Tiko platform.

About You

You are a logical thinker with a clear ethical compass, capable of building trust and navigating complex challenges. You communicate complex subjects effectively and are driven by data and technology.

Essentials

  • Experience: 5-8 years in leading mental health projects across at least two African countries, with a focus on adolescents and youth.
  • Government Collaboration: Experience working with Ministries of Health on strategy and delivery.
  • Networks: Strong connections with funders, technical assistants, and agencies supporting mental health interventions.
  • Clinical Background: Former clinician with a specialization in mental health.

  • Portugal: €3,056 – €4,584
  • South Africa: R59,224 – R88,837
  • Kenya: Ksh377,878 – Ksh566,818
  • Ethiopia: €2,363 – €3,545
  • Burkina Faso: CFA1,242,875 – CFA1,864,312
  • Uganda: UGX10,919,882 – UGX13,649,853

Salary will depend on your experience and alignment with colleagues.
