Role Overview

We are seeking a Member Engagement Associate fluent in Portuguese and Spanish to support communication and relationship-building with our global community. In this part-time, remote role, you will ensure Avaaz members receive responsive, clear, and empathetic support on topics related to campaigns, donations, and petitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to member inquiries in Portuguese and Spanish across topics such as campaign updates, donations, and technical support

• Translate and adapt fundraising and campaign materials from English into Portuguese, ensuring localization for Portugal

• Provide assistance to users of the Avaaz Community Petitions platform

• Track and analyze member feedback to help improve strategy and platform performance

• Collaborate with the wider team on campaign reviews, translation quality control, and identifying local opportunities for engagement

• Handle donation-related issues and questions with precision and care

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English (spoken and written)

• Excellent writing and communication skills, with attention to tone, clarity, and empathy

• Prior experience in customer support, community engagement, or member services

• Experience working with fundraising, donations, or CRM systems is a plus

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a remote, fast-paced environment

• Comfortable using tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace

• Passion for Avaaz’s mission and global social justice work

Additional Information

• Hours: 24 hours/week

• Contract: Initial 6 months, with possible extension

• Compensation: Competitive for the NGO sector and aligned to location and experience
