Department Overview
The Marketing team drives engagement and retention primarily via email and user experience. As part of the Product and Design department, it supports crowdfunding loans and donor contributions by crafting thoughtful, data-driven campaigns that connect with Kiva’s mission.
Role Overview
The Marketing Manager, Engagement & Retention, is responsible for executing and optimizing strategic marketing campaigns that drive user engagement and retention. This cross-functional role collaborates with design, product, engineering, and customer success teams to deliver impactful, user-centric experiences.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic email marketing campaigns using segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing.

Own and optimize the email marketing calendar.

Collaborate with the Creative Studio to develop campaign assets.

Use data analysis to measure campaign performance and drive strategic improvements.

Identify opportunities for audience growth and deeper engagement.

Lead planning and execution of key marketing initiatives.

Manage tools such as Iterable, Figma, Asana, and Google Workspace.

Ensure compliance with email regulations and best practices (e.g., CAN-SPAM).
Preferred Qualifications

3–5 years of email marketing experience with demonstrated success in campaign management and growth.

Strong experience with email strategy, segmentation, A/B testing, and optimization.

Excellent data analysis skills and ability to communicate insights.

Familiarity with multi-channel marketing strategies.

Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate across teams.

Proficiency with Iterable, Figma, Asana, Google Workspace, and analytics tools.
