Overview

The American Red Cross is seeking an experienced Lost Control Specialist to support workers’ compensation claims and workplace safety programs. This remote role focuses on claim processing, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction strategies across ARC operations, making a vital contribution to the organization’s mission of humanitarian service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process workers’ compensation claims and serve as liaison between employees, medical providers, insurers, and internal management

• Ensure OSHA reporting compliance and maintain accurate records

• Track claims from filing to resolution, including gathering and managing medical documentation

• Advise on regulatory compliance under OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local safety standards

• Conduct safety audits and provide compliance training

• Analyze loss data and recommend safety improvements

• Support local units in developing hazard mitigation and corrective action plans

• Guide safe return-to-work practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety, workers’ compensation, or related field

• Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT)

• Familiarity with claim tracking systems, medical documentation, and insurance coordination

• Relevant certifications (CSP, CHCM, ARM) preferred

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions

• Some travel may be required
