Commitment: Part-time (minimum 14 hours/week for at least 4 months)

About This Remote Internship Opportunity
The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, a global non-profit committed to placing human rights at the heart of business, is offering a remote legal internship for students currently enrolled in law or related fields. This remote vacancy offers hands-on experience in legal research, corporate accountability, and climate justice through the organization’s Just Transition Litigation project.
This is a great opportunity for students interested in business and human rights, legal accountability, and strategic litigation on a global scale. The internship is practical in nature, designed to elevate global attention on company conduct and human rights abuses.
Responsibilities

Conduct online legal research on lawsuits involving human rights and environmental violations

Support the development of the Just Transition Litigation Tracking Tool

Draft and update summaries of legal cases and company profiles

Assist in monitoring the 11th session of the Intergovernmental Working Group on a legally binding instrument on business and human rights

Contribute to the CLA Quarterly Update and Weekly Update newsletters

Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborative projects

Perform routine data input and content management on the organization’s website
Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a law program (LLB, LLM, JD) or holding a legal academic background

Experience with legal research and case summarization

Excellent English reading and writing skills; other languages (especially French, Spanish, Arabic, or Russian) are a plus

Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize complex information clearly

Commitment to human rights and corporate accountability

Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Comfortable working remotely and independently with overlapping hours between 8:30 am–6:00 pm CET
