Job Purpose

World Vision is seeking a specialist to lead and execute global disaster recovery (DR) and IT continuity strategies. This role is key to ensuring secure, resilient, and restorable digital services during crises — from cyber threats to natural disasters. The specialist will drive both enterprise-wide and field-specific DR initiatives to protect mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global IT disaster recovery framework, policies, and standards aligned with enterprise risk strategies.

• Develop and implement DR plans for cloud, infrastructure, and critical applications.

• Conduct DR drills and simulation exercises including RTO and RPO testing.

• Customize DR strategies for field offices in high-risk or low-connectivity environments.

• Serve as technical advisor during IT emergencies or field-based crises.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on backup, failover, and incident response protocols.

• Train and build capacity of IT staff on emergency protocols and post-disaster recovery workflows.

• Maintain detailed documentation (runbooks, dashboards, recovery plans).

• Work with external vendors for third-party DR integration.

• Enhance business continuity and incident response maturity across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

• Experience in disaster recovery, IT continuity, or technical emergency response in global environments.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), hybrid infrastructure, and backup technologies.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity incident response and integration with DR.

• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to lead under pressure.

• Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 22301, or equivalent frameworks; certifications such as CBCI or DRII are a plus.

• Agile mindset with practical experience in field-based humanitarian settings preferred.
