About UNESCO and the Digital Business Solutions (DBS) Team
The Digital Business Solutions (DBS) team at UNESCO supports the organization’s digital transformation. Reporting to the Assistant Director-General for Administration (ADG/ADM), DBS oversees the implementation of the digital strategy through resilient IT infrastructure, secure systems, and improved digital risk management. Interns will contribute to ongoing projects across operations, cybersecurity, and software development while gaining valuable international experience.
Internship Areas and Responsibilities
Interns will work under the supervision of the DBS management team in one or more of the following domains:
1. Operations, Helpdesk, Network, Server and Cloud

Assist with network performance monitoring and device configuration (routers, switches, firewalls)

Gain hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms
-
Support network and server troubleshooting
-
Help update documentation (network diagrams, device inventories)
-
Provide basic user support (e.g. account setup, password resets)
-
Use helpdesk ticketing systems
2. Cybersecurity, Compliance, and AI
-
Support deployment/testing of AI and Generative AI models
-
Develop cybersecurity awareness content and phishing simulations
-
Review security policies and help communicate them
-
Analyze vulnerability scanning reports and document findings
3. Development, Architecture, and Engineering
-
Assist with application development using Salesforce, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, or Django
-
Improve UI/UX based on user feedback
-
Support reporting via Microsoft or Salesforce technologies
-
Assist in data transformation and dashboard creation with Power BI
-
Conduct debugging, testing, and QA tasks
-
Document features, processes, and code for future use

Required Qualifications
Age
-
Minimum 20 years old at time of application
Education
-
Enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s, PhD, or equivalent)

Or recently graduated (within the past 12 months)

Technical/professional track applicants must be in the final year or recent graduates of their program
Languages
-
Excellent written and spoken English or French
-
Working knowledge of the second language is a plus
Skills

Strong computer literacy and familiarity with office software

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Strong teamwork and adaptability in international settings
