Internship Overview
IEEFA is seeking a motivated Energy Finance Intern to support data-driven research and analysis on renewable energy finance. The role involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from a range of secondary sources including public disclosures, company filings, and sector reports. This internship is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with a background in finance or energy studies who is eager to contribute to impactful research on climate finance.
Key Responsibilities

Collect and organize financial and project data on renewable energy, companies, and financial institutions

Structure and clean data from multiple sources for analysis

Analyze financial trends, policy frameworks, and investment patterns in the renewable energy sector

Prepare datasets, research briefs, and presentation materials

Maintain accurate documentation of sources and research workflows

Engage in internal discussions, reviews, and collaborative analysis

Stay informed on emerging issues in green finance, energy transition, and sustainability
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Energy Studies, Public Policy, Management, CFA, or related disciplines

Strong data collection and secondary research experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools

Ability to extract relevant insights from technical and financial reports

High attention to detail and data accuracy

Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Comfortable working remotely and collaborating within a digital environment

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of corporate sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD)

Interest in renewable energy finance and green investments
