Position: Human Resources Assistant
Location: Fully remote (Preference for candidates in the Southeast U.S. or Eastern Time Zone)
Type: Part-time (up to 20 hours/week), Hourly
Compensation: $25–$40 per hour, depending on experience

Role Overview
The HR Assistant will support GAIA’s global operations by providing key administrative and HR services. This includes managing onboarding, maintaining employee records, supporting training and development, coordinating calendars and communications, and assisting with benefits and payroll documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Calendar & Meeting Management: Schedule meetings, manage GAIA’s global calendar, and provide support for internal sessions.

Onboarding & Recruitment: Post job openings, schedule interviews, manage onboarding checklists, verify I-9 forms.

Employee Records & HR Systems: Maintain accurate records using Rippling and other tools; ensure compliance and updates in HRIS.

Communication & Liaison: Draft internal communications and support relations across regional offices.

Administrative Support: Assist with policy updates, benefits documentation, training programs, and payroll support.

Special Projects: Contribute to strategic HR projects like intranet updates, compensation research, or Salesforce integrations.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience

Experience with Rippling (required); Salesforce, Lattice, and Asana are a plus

Strong proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality

Experience with global nonprofits and cross-time zone collaboration

Commitment to environmental justice and GAIA’s values
Spanish language skills are a plus.
Work Conditions

Requires frequent computer use and occasional travel for team retreats
