Summary of Position
IREX seeks Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Consultants to provide organizational and programmatic support for inclusive development. The consultants will work closely with IREX’s Center for Applied Learning and Impact (CALI) to:
- Track progress on GESI initiatives.
- Build GESI talent within the organization.
- Support programs across IREX’s practice areas.
Multiple consultants may be hired through this recruitment.
Responsibilities
Organizational Support:
- Analyze and visualize inclusive data across CALI initiatives and donor-funded programs.
- Develop and deliver learning content, including mentoring and coaching staff on GESI best practices and tools.
- Support the evolution of IREX’s internal GESI advisor network.
Program-Level GESI Support:
- Co-design and assess GESI integration with program teams and implementing partners.
- Conduct and mentor others in GESI analyses using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Facilitate GESI risk assessments to align with Do No (More) Harm principles.
- Review program management documents, such as implementation plans and MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) plans.
New Business Development:
- Contribute to proposal development by designing and drafting GESI components, including GESI analyses.
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in gender studies, international development, social science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Experience:
- Proven experience with GESI mainstreaming in international donor-funded programs.
- Familiarity with USAID or USG GESI frameworks and strategies preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Conducting interactive training using adult learning principles.
- Performing intersectional gender or GESI analyses, including data collection and visualization.
- Designing and adapting GESI tools and competency frameworks.
Skills:
- Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively with non-technical staff.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and oral).
- Ability to design and implement accessible GESI activities aligned with program goals.
