Position Overview
CFJ is seeking a Fundraising and Development Manager to support and drive the Foundation’s growth. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, this role involves shaping fundraising strategies, managing donor relations, preparing grant proposals, coordinating fundraising events, and supporting CFJ’s flagship initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, donor reports, and associated materials.
- Integrate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) metrics into fundraising communications.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance to create and oversee grant budgets.
- Identify new funding opportunities with corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Cultivate donor relationships through prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Maintain and manage donor databases effectively.
- Plan and execute galas and other fundraising events in collaboration with the Chief of Operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3-6 years in fundraising or a related field.
- Skills: Strong track record in grant proposal writing and reporting; knowledge of M&E techniques; excellent donor relations and event planning skills.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Results: Demonstrated ability to secure substantial annual funding and cultivate new donor relationships.
- Teamwork: Experience in international, virtual team environments with cultural diversity.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Substantial fundraising experience with nonprofits, particularly in international human rights.
- Knowledge of funding opportunities for human rights NGOs.
- Interest in human rights, the rule of law, and public international law.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 USD per year (Remote – United States).
