Position Overview

IEEFA seeks a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day financial operations of its nonprofit entity, including coordination with its Australian subsidiary, IEEFA Australia Ltd. Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager will supervise finance staff, manage budgets, oversee grants and allocations, and ensure compliance with financial policies and funder requirements.

This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with occasional travel for meetings and events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CFO and leadership team for strategic financial planning

  • Supervise finance team, including staff and outsourced accounting partners

  • Manage daily financial operations (AP/AR, payroll, contract tracking)

  • Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments and reimbursements

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process across departments

  • Provide budget support and training to program leads

  • Track and manage grant allocations and restricted/unrestricted funds in QuickBooks

  • Oversee data imports of salary and shared cost allocations into QuickBooks

  • Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international financial regulations

  • Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes

  • Maintain documentation of financial procedures and workflows

  • Keep current with nonprofit accounting standards and best practices


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in senior finance roles, especially in grant-funded nonprofits

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, including data imports and multi-currency transactions

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial controls, and audit procedures

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Ability to work independently and remotely

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an international nonprofit or NGO

  • Familiarity with consolidated financial reporting across global subsidiaries


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
