Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to London
Contract: Permanent, 30 hours per week (4 days)
Salary: £40,000 FTE (pro-rata for 30h/week)

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will play a key role in strengthening the charity’s financial processes, reporting, and controls. Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing one Finance Assistant, the role involves producing timely financial data, collaborating with senior leaders, and supporting the charity’s mission of healing through music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations and ensure accurate transaction recording

  • Lead month-end procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and control account maintenance

  • Assist with drafting management accounts and cash flow forecasts

  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team and other managers on financial planning

  • Prepare and reconcile payroll submissions in coordination with the external provider

  • Support year-end processes and draft financial statements in line with Charity SORP

  • Act as liaison for the annual audit and external auditors

  • Manage banking relationships and financial systems (Sage 50, Stripe, CAF, PayPal, etc.)

  • Reconcile CRM (Beacon) fundraising data with financial records

  • Supervise and develop the Finance Assistant


Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Qualified (CCAB: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA), part-qualified, or QBE

  • Experience producing management accounts and financial narratives

  • Strong understanding of year-end procedures and audit preparation

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Ability to build trusted, constructive relationships with budget holders

  • Hands-on experience with Sage 50

  • Proactive, reliable, and collaborative team player
