Role Overview

The Endpoint Engineer plays a key role in maintaining, monitoring, and supporting global IT infrastructure. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing enterprise computing platforms to ensure performance, reliability, and security. You will lead infrastructure-related projects and provide guidance to Endpoint and Systems Administrators across multiple countries.


Key Responsibilities

System and Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure (Windows, Linux, VMware, AD, DNS, DHCP).

  • Monitor performance (disk, memory, CPU, storage).

  • Handle routine maintenance: backups, patching, hot fixes.

  • Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and off-site storage.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead project planning and provide time/cost estimates.

  • Integrate infrastructure with applications outside the standard framework.

  • Define automation specs for job scheduling and system improvements.

System Administration:

  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and system configurations.

  • Track and document all configuration changes.

  • Oversee service pack and upgrade installations.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Recommend changes to OS for improved performance.

  • Analyze and act on operational metrics.

  • Develop backend tools for capacity planning and monitoring.

Testing & Documentation:

  • Lead infrastructure testing efforts.

  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of environments, user guides, and maintenance logs.

Security & Compliance:

  • Partner with IT Security to investigate audit trails and ensure policy compliance.

  • Perform archival and backup verification to ensure business continuity.

Collaboration & Coaching:

  • Work closely with system users, vendors, and IT teams.

  • Provide expert coaching and mentoring to junior staff.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 5–7+ years in enterprise-level IT infrastructure, endpoint systems, and server management.

  • Proven experience with server deployment, optimization, and monitoring.

  • Hands-on experience in project leadership and systems automation.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced expertise in Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.

  • Familiarity with backup solutions, SAN administration, and monitoring tools.

  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) are a plus.
