Reports to: Chief Impact Officer
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Travel Requirement: Up to 30%
Salary Range: $140,000 – $175,000 USD

Position Summary

The Director, Impact Data and Reporting provides strategic leadership for Textile Exchange’s global impact data, measurement, and reporting portfolio. This includes oversight of production and portfolio volume reporting, climate and nature impact measurement, life cycle assessments (LCA), and flagship publications such as the Materials Market Report.

This is a high-visibility role requiring a visionary leader who can blend scientific rigor with innovation—making complex methodologies accessible, credible, and actionable for industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the broader sustainability community.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set the strategic vision for Textile Exchange’s impact data and reporting portfolio.

  • Anticipate regulatory trends and industry needs to position Textile Exchange as a trusted authority.

  • Represent the organization in global forums, partnerships, and industry platforms.

Market Data and Reporting

  • Oversee production and portfolio volume reporting, including methodologies and outputs.

  • Lead development of the annual Materials Market Report.

  • Ensure transparency and credibility in all published data.

Impact Measurement

  • Guide Textile Exchange’s LCA portfolio from study design to publication.

  • Develop frameworks for nature-related impact measurement aligned with evolving science and global initiatives.

  • Lead annual climate and nature impact modeling and ensure results translate into actionable insights.

Tools and Platforms

  • Oversee Textile Exchange’s reporting platform, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and user needs.

  • Provide strategic guidance for impact tools such as the Materials Impact Explorer and Regenerative Agriculture Outcome Framework.

  • Support recognition systems like the Fiber and Materials Matrix.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build and mentor a high-performing global team.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that supports innovation and accountability.

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with the 5-year strategy and theory of change.

  • Support board and funder engagement, providing credible leadership in impact-related discussions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in sustainability data, impact measurement, and/or reporting within fashion, apparel, or textiles.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to simplify complex technical topics.

  • Deep understanding of sustainability challenges in the textile value chain.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills in English.

  • Proven external representation and thought leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership in building and managing teams.

  • Commitment to Textile Exchange’s mission and values, with experience working across diverse and global contexts.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a global, remote-first organization.

  • Familiarity with multi-stakeholder sustainability initiatives.
