The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is hiring for a fully remote consultant role to support the development of its 2026 flagship report focused on digitalization and artificial intelligence across Latin America and the Caribbean. This remote job offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the most prominent development institutions in the region.
The report will examine how governments can use digital technologies and AI to promote growth, reduce inequality, and improve public services. It will cover both cross-cutting themes (such as labor market transformation and barriers to digital adoption) and sector-specific insights (including education, health, taxation, and infrastructure).
As a consultant, you will collaborate directly with report authors to conduct research, draft content, analyze data, and support the creation of policy recommendations.
Responsibilities

Conduct literature reviews on topics related to digitalization and AI

Analyze datasets and summarize findings

Draft technical sections and background papers

Coordinate expert contributions and stakeholder feedback

Organize remote workshops and prepare supporting materials
Candidate Profile
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, or a related discipline required

Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
-
Minimum of 2 years in applied research, policy analysis, or a similar field

Experience with statistical software (Stata required; R is a plus)

Proven ability to conduct economic research and develop evidence-based recommendations
Languages:
-
Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)

Knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus
Additional Skills:

Familiarity with digital transformation, AI, and labor market dynamics

Strong coordination and technical writing skills
Requirements

Must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries

Cannot have close family members employed at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab
