Location: Home-based within the UK, with two in-person meetings per year in London
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover, up to 12 months)
Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)

CLAPA empowers people affected by cleft to navigate their journey, connect with peers, and use their voices to influence the future of care. Role Overview
CLAPA is recruiting a Digital Communications Coordinator to lead and implement the charity’s digital communications strategy. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about community engagement and digital storytelling, with experience managing social media, email campaigns, and digital content creation.
Working closely with teams across CLAPA, the Coordinator will take responsibility for creating, scheduling, and evaluating online communications that strengthen connections with the cleft community. This role also helps maintain a consistent, accessible, and strategic voice across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and oversee CLAPA’s digital communications across social media and email

Develop and schedule engaging, accessible content aligned with campaign goals

Respond to online enquiries and manage community interactions

Collaborate with internal teams to support communications across services and campaigns

Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital campaigns using analytics tools

Ensure all digital communications adhere to CLAPA’s brand guidelines and tone of voice
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

Strong knowledge of digital communications strategies and tools
-
Proven experience managing content for social media and email platforms

Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to tone, clarity, and accessibility

Confidence using analytics tools to guide decision-making

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently
Desirable:

Experience working with health or charity organisations

Understanding of community engagement practices

Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design
