Job Purpose
World Vision is seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor to join its global communications team. This position plays a key role in ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy across internal and external content. The role combines high-quality editing and writing skills with the ability to support teams globally through content improvement and occasional training.
Key Responsibilities
Editing & Quality Control

Edit and proofread reports, newsletters, donor communications, social media copy, internal documents, and press releases

Ensure written materials align with World Vision’s voice, tone, and messaging
Content Creation
-
Produce clear, compelling, and persuasive written content that supports organizational goals and brand positioning

Adapt complex or technical information into accessible language for broader audiences
Content Support & Workflow

Collaborate with writers and global teams to streamline editorial processes

Contribute to efficient content production through workflow development
Writing Support & Training
-
Provide guidance and basic training to staff on effective writing and storytelling techniques

Improve staff capacity to produce high-impact written content across platforms
Required Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Experience
-
3–5 years of professional editing experience, ideally in an NGO or international nonprofit context

Demonstrated ability to edit and write across multiple formats

Proven skill in turning technical or sensitive content into reader-friendly copy

Experience collaborating with multicultural and global teams

Strong project and time management skills in a remote work environment
Skills

Mastery of English grammar, syntax, and style

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Familiarity with remote content production workflows

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications

Certification in editing or proofreading

Experience delivering writing/editing workshops or training sessions

Fluency in written and spoken English
