Position Overview

The Compliance and Program Quality Lead will ensure donor and organizational compliance, effective project management processes, and quality implementation within MEDA’s Latin America & Asia regions. This remote role supports MEDA’s strategic initiatives and ensures robust operational foundations, compliance standards, and risk management practices across projects.

Location: Remote (North America or Latin America – preference for Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua)
Position Type: Full-time Contract (12 months, renewable)
Start Date: Mid-July

Responsibilities

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with grant, legal, audit, and contract requirements across projects in Latin America, Central America, Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific.

  • Develop, deploy, and promote MEDA’s standardized Project Management Guidelines and tools.

  • Monitor project delivery quality, compliance, and manage risk mitigation strategies.

Capacity Building & Training

  • Conduct training sessions on project management best practices, compliance standards, and systems to strengthen regional and country teams.

Project and Operational Management

  • Lead operational risk management and mitigation planning.

  • Ensure quality and timely donor reporting.

  • Manage international or cross-regional projects directly administered from MEDA Canada/US offices.

Strategic Collaboration & Partnership

  • Support development and review of compelling concept notes for new opportunities.

  • Assist the Regional Director in donor and partner relationship-building.

  • Coordinate closely with MEDA’s internal teams (Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Technical, Audit) to maintain robust compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Certification/training in Project Management for Development or Non-profit Management.

  • Master’s or postgraduate certification in International Development preferred.

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in project management/compliance roles within international NGOs.

  • Proven experience managing international development projects, including procurement, compliance, and partner oversight.

  • Experience with large donor-funded projects, particularly Global Affairs Canada (GAC), is highly desirable.

  • Experience in partnership development and multi-country coordination.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in project management methodologies, compliance tools, and systems.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.

  • Certification in Program/Project DPRO or Project Result Management is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Alignment with MEDA’s faith-based values and goals.

  • Willingness and availability for frequent travel to developing countries.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
