๐ŸŽฏ Job Purpose

As Cloud Database Administrator, you’ll ensure the performance, integrity, and security of cloud-based databases that power humanitarian and development programs across the globe. You will support strategic and operational initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to optimize and secure data systems.


๐Ÿ”ง Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cloud databases such as Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, PostgreSQL, MySQL across multiple environments.

  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.

  • Optimize performance using indexing, tuning, and automation techniques.

  • Ensure data security and compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Collaborate with global teams, developers, and architects to ensure application scalability and performance.

  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for database deployment (e.g., Terraform).

  • Conduct monitoring and capacity planning using ITOM tools.

  • Embrace Agile and DevOps methodologies for continuous improvement and delivery.


๐Ÿง  Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.

  • Proficient in Terraform, Azure DevOps, and PowerShell or Python scripting.

  • Strong understanding of database observability, security, and ITOM.

  • Experience with DevOps automation tools like GitHub Actions or Ansible.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.
