Salary Range: $55,000 – $72,000 annually

Position Summary
The Oceans Program is seeking a Campaigner to design and implement strategic, science-informed campaigns that build public and political power to advance marine conservation goals. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external partners, coalition building, advocacy, organizing, and media engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute campaign plans aligned with the program’s legal, policy, and advocacy goals

Lead local, state, and regional campaigns for ocean protection

Build coalitions with community groups, NGOs, and national/international partners

Organize public events, protests, hearings, and meetings

Communicate effectively through public speaking, media outreach, and campaign materials

Draft persuasive written materials including comment letters, op-eds, and action alerts

Coordinate with Center staff including scientists, lawyers, and organizers
Qualifications

1–5 years of campaign experience

Proven success in strategic outreach and advocacy

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

Experience working in coalitions with a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion

Flexibility for evening/weekend work and travel as needed
