The Internal Audit Service (IAS) is part of the Independent Evaluation, Audit, and Investigations Services (IEAIS), providing assurance on governance, risk management, and controls within UN Women operations.
Purpose of the Roster
This open call aims to establish a roster of pre-vetted Audit Support Consultants who will be engaged on a needs basis to support internal audit assignments. The roster enables faster mobilization of expertise to support scheduled or urgent audit assignments across UN Women’s global operations.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct internal audit assignments aligned with the UN Women Risk-Based Audit Plan.

Follow international internal auditing standards and UN Women’s audit guidelines.

Lead audits focusing on value-for-money, governance, compliance, performance, and project management.

Participate in field missions, including in high-risk environments.

Lead audit teams, monitor timelines, conduct risk assessments, and ensure gender aspects are integrated.

Communicate findings, root causes, and actionable recommendations in clear audit reports.

Support methodology updates, training efforts, and knowledge sharing across IAS.
Required Qualifications
Education:
-
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Finance, Auditing, Business or Public Administration.

A first-level degree combined with CPA or CIA certification and 2 additional years of experience may be accepted.

CIA certification is highly desirable; CISA or CFE certifications are a plus.
Experience:
-
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in audit, risk management, or investigations.

At least 5 years in an international organization or equivalent setting.

Proven expertise in risk-based internal audits, financial audits, operational audits, and value-for-money assessments.

Experience using tools such as audit management software, ACL/IDEA/TeamMate Analytics, and ERP systems.
Languages:

Fluency in English is required.

Proficiency in French, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic is a strong asset.
