About the Role
FHI 360 is hiring an Associate Director to oversee the implementation and performance of Francophone country programs under the EpiC Project. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in managing large-scale donor-funded programs (especially USAID/PEPFAR), possess fluency in French, and demonstrate leadership in cross-functional and multi-country settings. This role reports to senior management and provides strategic direction, performance oversight, and business development support.
Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership for project direction, planning, and donor compliance

Supervise project teams and ensure capacity building of staff

Oversee financial performance, risk management, and timely reporting

Lead business development efforts with an emphasis on long-term growth

Ensure effective budget management, monitoring, and audit readiness

Represent the project to donors, partners, and stakeholders in Francophone countries

Coordinate advocacy, communication, and program visibility

Ensure routine field visits to monitor quality implementation and donor compliance

Promote knowledge-sharing and incorporate lessons learned into new program designs
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in international development, health, education, civil society, or related field

10+ years of experience in international development or NGO project management

3+ years of team leadership experience

Experience managing complex donor-funded projects (especially USAID, PEPFAR)

Fluency in both English and French

Proven ability to operate in insecure environments and manage remote teams

Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g. Office 365, Teams, SharePoint)

PMP certification or equivalent preferred

Greater than 25% international travel expected
