Introduction
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring a Casework Supervisor to join its Home Study and Post-Release Services (HSPRS) program for unaccompanied children in the United States. This national program provides crucial support to children released from federal custody by ensuring their safety, stability, and access to essential community resources.

Program Overview
The Home Study and Post-Release Services (HS/PRS) program evaluates the safety and suitability of sponsors before a child’s release (Home Study) and provides follow-up case management (Post-Release Services) to ensure the child’s wellbeing. The program operates in over 17 IRC offices nationwide and is funded under a multi-million-dollar federal contract.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support a team of 4–6 Senior Caseworkers (Level 2) and advise Crisis Case Managers (Level 3).

Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed case management aligned with IRC and federal standards.

Monitor service delivery, review documentation for accuracy and timeliness, and ensure caseload compliance with program requirements.

Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development for caseworkers.

Act as the point of escalation for complex or high-risk cases involving child safety or crises.

Collaborate with child welfare, law enforcement, and community agencies as necessary.

Maintain oversight of case data, write monthly reports, and identify trends, challenges, and recommendations.

Build and strengthen referral networks with local service providers and community organizations.

Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in all case management processes.

Carry a small caseload, as needed, to maintain service delivery capacity.

Travel approximately 15% of the time to support staff and program operations.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education:
-
Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or a related field, or
-
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of progressive supervisory and case management experience, including 1 year in Home Study and Post-Release Services.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of management experience in social services, including case review and compliance monitoring.

Proven experience providing HSPRS case management preferred.

Strong data analysis, report writing, and communication skills.

Familiarity with federal and local social service systems.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive cases involving child protection and crisis management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Other Requirements:

Must pass an Office of Refugee Resettlement background check (including FBI fingerprints and child abuse/neglect clearance).

Valid U.S. driver’s license and access to an insured, reliable vehicle.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

A dedicated private workspace for remote work.
