Role Summary
IEEFA is seeking an Energy Finance Analyst to focus on Indonesia’s energy transition, particularly within the power sector. This role involves financial and market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and impactful research on topics such as:

Corporate financial structures of major energy companies

Coal-to-clean energy transition mechanisms
-
Renewable energy development and financing
-
Grid investment and national energy policy
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and has a strong background in energy economics, finance, or policy in the Indonesian context.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct financial, market, and policy analysis of Indonesia’s energy sector at asset, corporate, and national levels.

Develop reports, commentaries, and research papers on Indonesia’s power transition.

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in government, finance, energy companies, and NGOs.

Represent IEEFA at meetings, media briefings, and industry events.

Provide insights and commentary to media to shape informed narratives.

Collaborate with colleagues across Asia and globally to ensure research alignment.

Track emerging trends in finance, corporate filings, and energy policy affecting Indonesia.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience in energy, finance, economics, or a related field.

Degree in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering (CFA or equivalent a plus).

Strong understanding of Indonesia’s energy and policy landscape, especially the power sector.

Proven ability to analyze financial statements and corporate accounts.

Experience in quantitative analysis; financial modelling skills preferred.

Excellent English writing and narrative-building skills, demonstrated in publications or reports.

Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with good political judgment.

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; ability to learn new tools quickly.
