Manager, Canvass (Remote) – ASPCA

Job Overview

The ASPCA is seeking a Manager, Canvass, to oversee the face-to-face fundraising program within its Traditional Fundraising department. This remote role requires Eastern Time Zone business hours and focuses on managing external canvass partners, optimizing donor acquisition strategies, and ensuring campaign quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Acquisition Operations (70%)

  • Serve as the primary contact for canvass partners and internal teams.

  • Manage canvassing operations, including partner onboarding, test implementation, and invoice reconciliation.

  • Lead training workshops (virtual and in-field) and manage training materials development.

  • Oversee quality assurance programs, including secret shopping and complaint tracking.

  • Manage market and site mapping and collaborate on projects impacting donor acquisition and donation processing.

Manage Canvassing Performance (15%)

  • Collaborate on multi-channel fundraising strategies for donor acquisition and retention.

  • Provide reporting on campaign performance and ensure data accuracy in the donor database.

  • Identify and address donation processing errors or trends.

Special Projects (15%)

  • Support compliance and learning & development initiatives.

  • Manage cross-functional acquisition and retention projects.

  • Support retention of existing canvass donors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising, with canvassing experience preferred.

  • Experience managing multiple vendors and expense budgets.

  • Hands-on experience with monthly giving programs preferred.

  • Familiarity with donor/customer databases and direct marketing performance metrics.

  • Strong project management, relationship-building, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PC/MAC environments.

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Compensation

  • Salary based on location (cost-of-labor zones):

    • Zone 1: $61,000 – $66,000

    • Zone 2: $68,000 – $73,000

    • Zone 3: $74,000 – $80,000
