Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) is an international non-profit that develops innovative, cost-effective rural infrastructure solutions through advocacy, evidence, and technical assistance. B2P partners with governments and donors to ensure safe and reliable access for remote communities, working toward the mission of eliminating poverty caused by rural isolation.


Role Overview

The Advocacy Officer will be a key member of B2P’s global advocacy team. You will drive visibility and action around rural transport infrastructure as a solution for climate resilience, equity, and sustainable development. This is a fast-paced role for a strategic communicator who thrives on coordination, stakeholder engagement, and impactful policy influence.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advocacy and Influence (30%)

  • Draft policy briefs, op-eds, talking points, and campaign materials for senior stakeholders

  • Support key advocacy initiatives such as the Safe Access Scorecard and Cost of Inaction Report

  • Conduct policy research to position B2P in global forums and campaigns

Stakeholder & Coalition Engagement (25%)

  • Manage stakeholder and coalition trackers, and coordinate engagement planning

  • Support B2P’s presence in advocacy coalitions like Sum4All and SLOCAT

  • Assist in organizing high-level meetings and partner convenings

Project Management & Internal Coordination (20%)

  • Track advocacy deliverables and coordinate timelines across teams

  • Align with MEL, Programs, and Communications for unified messaging

  • Maintain internal resources and reporting systems

Content Development & Messaging (15%)

  • Translate technical insights into clear, persuasive content for advocacy

  • Contribute to presentations, speeches, and message documents

  • Ensure tone and brand consistency in all external materials

Team Participation & Support (10%)

  • Join regular team meetings, OKR check-ins, and development sessions

  • Collaborate across departments and mentor interns/fellows when needed


Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • 4–6 years in advocacy, policy, development, or public affairs

  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially for high-level audiences

  • Experience with governments, multilaterals, or philanthropy

  • Skilled in creating briefings and policy research for decision-makers

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking ability

Mindset & Skills

  • Outcome-driven: advocacy should lead to real change, not just visibility

  • Equity-focused with a systems-thinking approach

  • Strategic, adaptable, and confident in fast-changing environments

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and quick pivots when necessary

Preferred Expertise

  • Background in infrastructure, climate, mobility, or rural development

  • Familiarity with global policy processes or coalition engagement


Working Conditions

  • Fully remote position with occasional travel

  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate global coordination
