Role Overview
Save the Children International is seeking an experienced Global Financial Controller to lead financial reporting and audit oversight during a 12-month maternity cover. This is a critical role supporting the organisation’s integrity, ensuring compliance with financial and donor standards, and managing financial risks across global operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead statutory financial reporting and annual audit across SCI

Ensure robust internal financial control frameworks globally

Build and implement global financial policies that comply with UK, Swiss, and other jurisdictions’ standards

Lead SCI’s external audit with KPMG and support 100s of donor audits annually

Own and maintain SCI’s Scheme of Delegation and financial data model

Develop and manage tax strategy, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions

Collaborate with Transformation and IT teams to align systems with reporting and control needs

Provide high-quality reporting and insight to senior leadership and the Board
Required Qualifications and Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Extensive experience in global financial reporting and auditing

Strong knowledge of charity SORP, IFRS/GAAP, and regulatory frameworks

Proven team leadership in a large, multicultural environment

Familiarity with complex financial systems and change management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership and talent development
