Overview
UN Women is seeking a User Acceptance Tester Consultant to support the Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) within the Strategy, Planning, Resources and Effectiveness Division (SPRED). The SPU oversees results-based management (RBM), strategic planning, and system development related to planning and monitoring across UN Women. The selected consultant will support the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase for a system under development, ensuring it aligns with business needs before launch.
Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of the Strategic Planning Unit and direct supervision of the Programme Specialist – Strategic Planning, the consultant will:

Translate business needs into testable acceptance criteria

Develop UAT test plans, scope, and strategies with stakeholders

Create detailed test cases and scripts based on real-world usage

Execute test cases, document outcomes, and log defects

Track and prioritize issues using a defect tracking system

Prepare and present UAT summary reports

Requirements
Education
-
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

A bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of experience may be accepted
Experience
-
At least 5 years of experience in UAT, software quality assurance, or system analysis

Experience designing and executing test cases and documenting the UAT process
-
Experience working with UN or similar international organizations is desirable
Skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and UAT-related tools

Strong documentation, analytical, and organizational skills

Understanding of SDLC and STLC

Familiarity with results-based management (RBM) is a plus
Languages
-
Fluency in English is required
-
Knowledge of another UN language is an asset
Work Arrangement
This is a home-based position with one visit to UN Women’s headquarters in New York expected during the consultancy.
